Now how is mindfulness of in-and-out breathing developed…
so as to be of great fruit, of great benefit?

Choose a place that is quiet,
free from distraction,
and physically safe.

Sit with your body upright,
balanced and relaxed.

Always mindful, one breathes in;
mindful, one breathes out.

Gently relax the body—
releasing tension
wherever it is found.

Watch thoughts arise and pass away.
Do not chase them—
simply observe.

In time, this calm awareness
remains with you—
even in the midst of life.
